Effect on the body
Lemon essential oil is an effective tonic for the circulatory system: it thins the blood, improves circulation and thereby lowers pressure in varicose veins. Stimulates the work of the heart and is often used to lower blood pressure. Restores the vitality of red blood cells and counteracts anaemia. At the same time it stimulates white blood cells and, as a result, strengthens the immune system and helps fight infections.
Lemon oil is believed to help with nosebleeds and in general to prevent external bleeding. Being an antiseptic, it improves the condition in tonsillitis, cough, colds and flu. By lowering the level of acidity in the stomach, making the stomach environment more alkaline, lemon oil improves the activity of the digestive system. Apparently it increases the secretion of the pancreas, so it is used in the treatment of diabetes. Counteracts congestion in the kidneys and liver and generally cleanses the body. A likely positive effect in constipation and cellulite.
As practice shows, lemon oil eases headache, including migraines, as well as pain of a neuralgic nature, rheumatic and arthritic.
Helps with painful insect bites.
Effect on the skin
Lemon essential oil, by exfoliating dead cells, gives a healthier look to pale and dull skin. Restores damaged capillaries and effectively cleanses oily skin and hair. Gives the hair shine. A popular means of removing corns, growths and warts. Softens scar tissue and prevents brittleness of nails.
