The kese mitt with a cuff for medium and soft peeling is designed to cleanse dry, sensitive skin, and also suits owners of combination and thin skin. Thanks to its unique texture, it helps remove dead epithelium and impurities. In the traditional Turkish bath, the hammam, the kese is used after 10-15 minutes of rest in the steam room, which opens the pores and cleanses the skin deeply. It can also be used after a wet bath, a sauna or a shower, on well-steamed skin.
What is a kese mitt?
The Kese washcloth is a mitt for peeling and massage that has a rough surface and is made of natural silk threads. It is an indispensable tool for gently removing dead cells of the epidermis from the surface of the skin. In bathhouses and hammams the Kese mitt has been used since ancient times instead of an ordinary washcloth. The natural silk fibres for such mitts are twisted: the higher the degree of twist, the stiffer the fabric and the more intense the peeling this mitt gives. At first glance the fabric may seem excessively smooth and gentle, but when wet the mitt becomes stiffer.
How to choose a kese?
When buying a kese washcloth, pay attention to its stiffness: the fabric should have a texture and not be slippery.

How to use the kese mitt
Before first use, the Kese washcloth must be dipped in warm water and then wrung out, after which it becomes stiffer and ready for use. Kese can be used not only in Turkish baths but also at home, for both the face and the body. The first step is to steam the body well (in the bathroom, sauna or bathhouse), and then you can use the Kese.
True connoisseurs of deep cleansing and intensive peeling also apply beldi before using the kese: Black or Rose for the body, Rose or “Caliph’s Treasure” for the face. And of course you can choose any Natural Soap to your taste. The ritual of using the Kese mitt can be finished by applying a product based on repairing and nourishing oils to the skin: for example Argan oil, Macadamia oil or the cosmetic face oil Golden Rose and so on.
With gentle use, peeling with this kese mitt is not traumatic and does not cause skin irritation. This particular kese can be used, if needed, for everyday body cleansing. It is worth replacing it every 6 months.
Caring for the kese mitt
After each use the mitt must be rinsed thoroughly and always dried. It is best not to treat it with chemicals or wash it in a washing machine. Store it in a clean, dry place.
