Latin name: Vetiveria Zizanoides
Family: Poaceae
Scent phase: Third
Aroma: Smoky, earthy, deep

Country of origin: Tanzania

Antiseptic, helps with nervous disorders; stimulates sexual activity (an aphrodisiac); tones, soothes.

Effect on the mind
Has a soothing action, is considered an effective remedy and relieves stress and nervous tension. It is good to use before an exam or a visit to the dentist. The action of the oil will also be appreciated by those who feel confused and would like to feel firm ground under their feet. The oil can be useful in more serious psychological problems too, especially when a person feels vulnerable and unprotected. An aphrodisiac.
Effect on the body
By calming the nervous system, it lets you gain self-confidence and give up tranquillisers. It is said that the oil cleanses the aura, the energy shell of the body, strengthens its protective properties and thereby guards against illness.
Having a sedative action, the oil helps in physical and mental overwork. By stimulating the red blood cells that deliver oxygen to all organs, it nourishes the body with energy. Improves circulation and reduces muscle pain. Helps those who suffer from rheumatism and arthritis. The oil has a reputation as a stimulant for the reproductive system, since it relieves nervous tension (which, as is known, prevents the expression of sensuality). In general it helps the body recover and regain health. This is achieved not least thanks to good sleep (the oil is used for insomnia).
Effect on the skin
Effective against pimples.
Combinations
Jasmine, ylang-ylang, lavender, patchouli, rose, rosewood, sandalwood.
